8:10 PM EST. One thing we know for sure is that Jose Quintana (LHP) will be full of confidence here. That’s not a bad place to start. In two games against Milwaukee this year, Quintana has allowed 0 earned runs in 13 innings with 13 K’s and 3 walks issues. Today’s game will be in Miller Park, where the Brewers are league-average offensively. Quintana has been magnificent on the road—logging a 2.62 ERA—compared to a 6.00 mark at home. Furthermore, Milwaukee has struggled against LHP this season (80 wRC+, 29th).

Weighted Runs Created Plus (wRC+) is a sabermetric rate statistic for hitters. wRC+ assigns every offensive action a weight that reflects its value in producing runs, and then controls the outcome for current league norms and park effects. A wRC+ of 100 is league-average. Not surprisingly, Mookie Betts led the world in wRC+ for May at 216, with Jose Ramirez, Mike Trout, and Francisco Lindor close behind. Only one other hitter (Scooter Gennett) had a May wRC+ over 200.

Junior Guerra (RHP) looks to replicate what he did against the Cubs on April 28 when he logged a strong start against them in Chicago but don’t be influenced because the wind was blowing in that day. Guerra’s skills are weak across the board in every category except K’s (8.4 K’s/9 - 10% swing and miss). The Cubs offense presents a difficult task for today, as they’re currently sitting top seven against RHP, on the road, and over the last 30 days. There is a profound amount of risk here for Guerra today and we’re not going to trust him against this opponent.
