9:10 PM EST. We’re not going to go into a lot of details here regarding the pitchers because it matters not when playing at Coors Field. We are going to commit to playing the underdog all season long at Coors Field on the ALTERNATIVE run line. What that means is that we are playing all of Colorado’s home games this season and we’ll be playing the underdog in each game, whether it’s the Rocks or the opposition and we’ll be playing it regardless of who’s pitching. We’re suggesting that this wager has nothing but big profits in store. With totals being in the 10 to 12½ range daily at this venue, far more games are decided by two runs or more than one run and the underdog wins just as much as the favorite. The pitching matchups rarely matter because even the best get rocked at this park. We’ll keep a running record on this angle all season long:

Here are the pitching notes on today's two starters:

Tyler Anderson (LHP) is 3-1 but has seen his ERA rise from 3.78 before his start on May 9 to the 4.74 it is today. Anderson has got knocked around in his last three starts, as he's given up 12 earned runs on 19 hits over 16 innings pitched. Anderson's strikeout rate has also dipped over this stretch but so too has his walk rate. Anderson hasn't offered multiple free passes in a start since April 21.

Tyler Mahle (RHP) has dropped two straight, but the 23-year-old is flaming just about a batter an inning with 52 whiffs in 53.2 frames. Mahle has posted a first-pitch strike percentage of 60.9. In addition to increasing his K-rate in 2018 Mahle is also walking fewer batters. His groundball rate has dropped considerably over last season and he's giving up more home runs which have contributed to his 4.53 ERA. Mahle's xERA is 3.97, but he does pitch at the hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark.
