TORONTO -2 -110 over Montreal

7:30 PM EST. Bad lines have been the theme of this CFL season and this one looks to be totally out of whack. The Alouettes are pure shit. Not Ottawa Redblacks level of shit, but they are shit nonetheless. What’s their quarterback's name again? Vernon Wells, or Wellsy Adams or Vernon Adams, whatever, it doesn’t really matter what his name is, he’s the shits, too. Last week the Al’s were a -3-point favorite over B.C. and lost by nine. In Week 4, Montreal was a +1½ point home pooch to Hamilton and were beaten 27-10. Week 3 they played the Bo Levi-less Stamps and didn’t cover that game either (despite winning the turnover battle 3-1). Since catching the COVID infested Elks in Week 1, the Als have won just one game, a 51-29 mollywhopping of the Redblacks. Color us unimpressed.

The Argonauts are coming off a 30-16 loss in Regina against the Roughriders, but one does not need to dissect the game tape to see where the Boatmen were sunk. Few teams in this league could survive a 4-1 turnover ratio to the bad and not get their doors blown off. There is also little shame in losing in Regina. Hell, there were more people at that game last week than the Argos may see at BMO Field all year. Before the Argos house caved in against Saskatchewan, they actually looked pretty good and for the most part this season. The Argos can play football. They can play defense and they have great playmakers too. Some bad luck, self inflicted wounds and bad press have Toronto undervalued here to a large degree.
