6:00 PM EST. Saturday's showdown between Pac-12 foes Washington State and Arizona is poised to be a true barnburner. Two of the nation's best offenses will square off in what is expected to be a high-scoring affair with two of the nation's most proficient signal callers, Connor Halliday and Anu Solomon dueling it out for a much needed conference victory. Respectfully, Arizona enters the game 5-1 while Washington State sits at 2-5, but the Cougars are far better than their record would indicate. Wazzou lost three games by a margin of a touchdown or less, which included a 7-point loss to Oregon and a 1-point loss to California. Furthermore, the Cougars remain the nation's best passing offense, averaging a stunning 490 yards per game, which should bode well here against a Wildcat defense that ranks 101st in the nation in pass defense.

The Wildcats are certainly a tough out. They, too, lost to Oregon by just seven and they did defeat the Bears by four. Against two common opponents, the results were almost identical and we just don’t see where the ‘Cats have an edge to warrant their road favorite status. National rankings impact the line. The ‘Cats are ranked #15 in the country while State is unranked. That’s an angle we always like to look closely at, that being a ranked opponent spotting small points on the road to an unranked opponent. It’s a low percentage play for the chalk and one we’ll look to take advantage of again. Cougars outright.
